Angela : Hi everyone thanks for the invitation and better Peth actually I'm here I already told you Peth that I would rather ask questions instead of presenting anything this is because as I mentioned we are currently running this reward systems programme so this is a community research initiative together in total we have 41 community researchers working on the question of reward systems and DAOS at the moment and will work up from this over the next three months and have one day for talks and discussions and I'm currently searching and scouting for inputs questions also presentations mechanisms on reward systems so maybe I'll share a couple of slides on TE Academy so that you have some more context what we do and then reserve the rest of the time on things you'd like to add from your personal contributor perspective in a DAO or from a wider the challenge is you see the questions or even answers or suggestions you might have on reward systems how does that sound we take that route

OK alright so I'll let me give you a first introduction on token engineering Academy so token engineering community started in 2018 with events and workshops around the question of token engineering which is also at an engineering discipline probably the youngest after software engineering and this term token engineering was this term token engineering was mentioned 2018 only

and so it's a crypto native engineering discipline and the big topic here is focusing on the design validation and optimization of token based economic systems and our mission at theacademy since over the last two years we've learned oh wow there are so many really big challenges for encrypt economic systems and for DAO's

and how to address them what body of knowledge do we need how can we gather the best researchers how can we educate token engineers and grow the number of token engineers in crypto we started TE Academy and T Academy is basically a community driven effort and platform organisation if you will as a workstream of TE comments so TE comments started to I get things going an August an we could do with our programme in July so this was a parallel developement the Academy one workstream of TE Commons

now what's also important to us and to TE Commons as well is this is how we envision booking engineering we want to build systems that rather than trying to optimise humans via you know we not people to do things to behave like this and to act like rather than optimising humans it's about providing the maximum degree of freedom for everyone permissionless systems while preventing dangerous conditions and this is the challenge of token engineering and TE Academy since its launch in 2020

And has already now by now even more than 800 participants in training programmes we have people from 21 times sensor from all across the world and students are actually taking part during their local night times if we run live sessions that's really impressive to see yeah this huge interest and dedication off people attending TE Academy and then are active in the token engineering community and from background wise

so the majority of people at The Academy Is has a background in economics engineering or computer science and also an important share is natural science math data science and also since we have social technical systems social sciences and it's pretty cool to see for us that we have this mix and it's also important to us that we maintain this mix because it's actually to develop this discipline into just you have great token engineering achievements in crypto we need this mix and some of our partners

so the programmes are free to the students this is important to know we try to make all our courses all our programmes free for students and online so that it's accessible all across the globe and then work with partners for funding and content and challenges and this is a are some of our partners and now let me briefly introduce these community research initiatives like the reward systems
